Danilo Echeverry

Pastor Danilo Echeverry serves as the Pastor of the Spanish Ministry at The Oaks Baptist Church. A native of Bogota, Colombia, he has been married to his wife Olga Velasco for seventeen years, and together they are the parents of two children. His passion is to faithfully teach the Word of God, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and make disciples who live for the glory of God.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, reflecting his commitment to ongoing biblical and ministerial preparation. In the spring of 2025, he completed a Certificate in Hispanic Church Planting at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. For the past two years, he has been preparing for pastoral ministry and church planting through a church planting residency with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC), embracing the mission to engage the city, make disciples, and plant churches. He was ordained to the Gospel ministry in May 2025 by Champion Forest Baptist Church, his sending church.

Previously, Pastor Danilo served for eight years in the marriage ministry at his sending church, walking alongside couples and families from a biblical perspective. That experience strengthened his conviction that the family is the foundation of a healthy community and that the church should be a spiritual home where people find hope, support, and growth in Christ. His desire is to see lives transformed by the Gospel, strengthen families, and build a Christ-centered community where every person is welcomed, equipped to serve, and encouraged to follow Jesus Christ.
